Email Security Team Spambrella Recognised For Its Excellence And Growth With Global Clients

The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are the most prestigious awards for UK businesses and are a globally recognised royal seal of approval for UK companies.

The Queen's Award to Industry, the scheme's original title, was instituted by Royal Warrant in 1965, with the first Awards announced in 1966. It later became known as The Queen's Awards for Export and Technology in 1975, before becoming The Queen's Awards for Enterprise in 1999.

Those companies awarded in International Trade have demonstrated that their business has achieved substantial growth in overseas earning and in commercial success (for their business size and sector) through either outstanding achievement over 3 years or continuous achievement over 6 years.

Spambrella is an Email Security and Security Awareness Training specialist. Their services are delivered to some of the World’s largest and most successful security-conscious companies in a multitude of continents and environments.

Stuart Hargreaves, COO of Spambrella says;

The Queen’s Awards have always been the top, most prestigious target. You rarely get recognition as a founder and this award appeals to so many as it investigates the finer details, the mechanics of what ‘success’ really is. This is what makes the award so important to UK businesses.

The story of Spambrella is interesting and equally unusual in its making, the early risks were relatively large, but the rewards were greater. Spambrella was faced with difficult situations logistically, legally, financially, and politically over the previous five years - the sheer reluctance to fail ultimately led to great successes and wonderful partnerships in international regions. We were awarded with The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise in international trade because the team faced adversity, a global pandemic and still maintained over 75% growth year on year. Over three years, Spambrella overseas sales have grown year on year close to 75%, with overseas sales accounting for over 80% of total growth. Spambrella supports other technology businesses and delivered services to over 55 countries in 2019 and has increased export further in 2020 and 2021.

Stuart Hargreaves commented on receiving the award;

This is a landmark achievement for the entire Spambrella team and those associated to making Spambrella what it is. It was a proud moment when we received communication that Her Majesty The Queen had approved the Prime Minister’s recommendation that Spambrella should receive a Queen’s Award for Enterprise. Receiving this prestigious award is wonderful recognition for our continued international trade over the last three years and testimony to the loyalty of our partners and clients around the world.

I was fortunate enough to have attended Windsor Castle for the Royal Reception at the end of the pandemic. This is of course a huge draw to the award and a lifetime achievement, to meet members of The Royal Family and discuss our business and award is a huge privilege.

Being able to share the award with our technology suppliers, technical support teams and finance teams has been a real pleasure. Spambrella is a small team and relies on strong third-party relationships to operate. The core strength of the organisation 'as a whole' has been galvanised with The Queen's Awards for Enterprise.

Internationally Spambrella has gained more recognition since they attained the award. They have already seen a net benefit to the business especially with confidence in our brand and with that, additional organic sales growth.

Spambrella’s advice for potential applicants is to study the applications questions and discuss the figures with your team. It will soon become apparent if the facts are in-line. Additionally, it is important to have a story, remember this is an award for 'Enterprise' so do not be put off if you do not have £100M annually in revenues. It is good to share your struggles, successes - the judges are real people, and you want them to feel the passion and pride you have for your company.
