Why did your business decide to apply for a Queen’s Award for Enterprise?

Since the start of our company, our dream was for EasySkinz to become a global brand. As of today, we have grown rapidly into a successful family business shipping products to 140 countries each month. Applying for the most globally recognised royal seal of approval was something we wanted to do since our brand has become highly popular around the world. It wasn’t a spontaneous decision, it was something that we worked hard for, placing a local, family manufacturing business on the global stage. The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade was the highest honour for us.

What has winning the award has meant for your business/ staff?

For us it means everything. Everyone at EasySkinz believes in the global success of the brand. Winning the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade is undeniable proof that we are on the right path. As a young company, it is a huge incentive for the team to make even greater efforts and continually improve our service and products. It is also a responsibility we now hold, which will keep us focused on what matters the most. For us, this has been an incredible journey which we are sure will continue for the years to come. Through winning the Award, we also had the chance to meet inspiring people, to present our work in front them and to discuss and exchange ideas how our business can grow further.

How has/will winning the award benefit your business?

The benefit of winning the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category adds value to our brand and recognises our ability to run a successful international business that is managed here in the United Kingdom. The Queen’s Award allows us to be a business which is recognised globally as an outstanding British brand, meaning that our international customers and other businesses trust us and our products. It is the same situation with business-to-business communications. This trust has resulted in us receiving offers from other businesses that will help us reach new markets, which is fantastic. EasySkinz is one of the first electronic device accessory makers to win a Queen’s Award for Enterprise and the only winner for manufacturing mobile phone skins which is very important achievement for a competitive niche such as ours.

Do you have any advice for future Queen’s Award applicants?

We would advise any company who is passionate about what they do to apply for a Queen’s Award for Enterprise. Nobody is too small, or too big and the Queen’s Award for Enterprise is proof that if you believe in your idea, be true to yourself and others, and work hard to achieve your goals, everything is possible. We would also advise applicants to allow enough time for their application and not to be afraid to speak about your company’s values and goals. Winning the Queen’s Award for Enterprise is an experience of a lifetime and we would highly recommend anyone to apply without hesitation.
