Maidenhead company Scientifica submitted their Multiphoton Imaging System for a Queen's Award for Enterprise last year in the Innovation category.
Their scanning device was recognised as truly innovative and after being shortlisted they went on to receive the coveted award.
On Friday, 9 January the Home Secretary, Theresa May, stopped by at Scientifica's factory at the Kings Grove Industrial Estate to present staff with their latest Queen's Award.
This was not her first visit to Scientifica, on a previous visit in November 2012 she presented another Queen's Award to the company, for International Trade.
On this visit Mrs May met with apprentices before presenting managing director Mark Johnson and business services director Adrian Corbin with the award.
Mr Johnson said:
It's great to have our flagship product recognised with such a prestigious award. We all enjoyed the visit from Theresa May at our Maidenhead factory. It was brilliant to see our staff, who have worked so hard, celebrate this wonderful achievement.
