Control room console designer and manufacturer Winsted Limited welcomed Lt Col Patrick Holcroft, the Queen’s representative in Worcestershire, on Friday 18 October. He presented The Queen's Award for Enterprise to the firm for its achievement in International trade. The presentation at Winsted’s' Hampton Lovett-based factory was followed by a reception for specially invited guests in celebration of the occasion. Those attending included Droitwich Spa Mayor, Councillor Tom Noyes, deputy mayor Bob Brookes, Councillor Anne Taft, and representatives from UKTI. General Manager Terry Shough said:

I am thrilled to see our recent success recognised in this manner. During recent years we have worked hard to distinguish ourselves in the global market.

On Friday 4 October, Limbs & Things was presented with The Queen’s Award for Enterprise by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant Mary Prior, in recognition of its innovative contribution to skills training in medicine. The prestigious award was presented to Founder and President, Margot Cooper at the Limbs & Things premises in Bristol who stated:

We feel extremely honoured to have been awarded The Queen’s Award for Enterprise Innovation. This Award ceremony is a celebration to recognise and thank our employees for all their hard work. It is their sheer dedication, creativity and continuous innovative work that has ensured our remaining at the forefront of the industry.

Local MP Kerry McCarthy and Bristol Mayor, George Ferguson also attended and gave presentations at the event, which included an interactive exhibition of Limbs & Things key products and a rare opportunity to tour the company’s on-site factory.

Ingrid Roscoe, Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire recently presented the managing director of Wakefield-based Group Rhodes, with The Queen’s Award for Enterprise (for International trade) during an Open Day at The Hepworth arts complex in Wakefield.

Group Rhodes MD Mark Ridgway said:

We are honoured and delighted to have been presented with the group’s second Queen’s Award. The last few years have been challenging for manufacturing in the UK, and our success really has been a team effort. The award is recognition of the hard work, high skills and determination of all our people.
